More About Perisha Agro and Packaging Enterprise:

Perisha Agro and Packaging Enteprise is an eco-friendly enterprise established in 2012 and started its operations in 2015 in Lilongwe, Malawi in Agribusiness with much focus on food biofortification and food security. We are processing orange fleshed sweet potato; orange maize flour; Nua bean flour; high quality cassava flour; cassava starch, etc. and we are also into commodity trading of soya beans; common beans; groundnuts and rice both at local and international markets. 

Our main aim is to improve the nutritional status of women and children under five by promoting the growing and consumption of nutritious food products. In our business model, we work with more than 8,500 small holder farmers on contract who produce the raw materials that we buy and process our various products.  From 2016 to 2022, we have reached out to more than 800,000 households with our nutritious food products. Our business model is for a circular economy – the more we support the rural population, the more they support their children with education and the more they raise a future generation for economic development. We estimate our market value at USD60.0m and we aim to reach at least 2% of the market share by 2027.  In our farming practices with our farmers, we practice climate smart agriculture, agroforestry technologies; land conservation and soil and water management.
