Tap into students’ curiosity and empower them to create through making! Hear about one school’s journey setting up their Makerspace, adopting a maker mentality, and how students responded to it. From squishy circuits, MakeyMakeys and computer programming to sewing machines and conductive thread, we will discuss resources, tools, and concepts that provide students with opportunities to become “makers of their own learning”, turn their ideas into reality, and share their creations with the world. See examples of student-created, standards-aligned projects and discuss innovative ways to integrate making into the classroom.
